Originally designed in 1964 by Roy Johnson, a protégé of Frank Lloyd Wright, this mid-century modern residence reflects a strong connection between the home and its natural surroundings. Our comprehensive renovation honors that architectural legacy while adapting the home for contemporary living.

Set against the backdrop of the Pocantico Nature Preserve, the existing first floor consisted of a series of smaller, enclosed rooms that no longer met the needs of modern family life. By opening the kitchen to the family room and reconfiguring the main living spaces, we created a spacious, functional layout centered around a custom kitchen designed for everyday living and entertaining.

The interior renovation reimagined the home's organization to better support the owners' lifestyle. A relocated primary suite provides greater comfort and privacy, while the rehabilitated second floor establishes a dedicated bedroom level. Throughout the home, updated finishes, and fixtures complement the architectural transformation and create a cohesive living environment.

New floor-to-ceiling windows and expansive sliding glass doors introduce abundant natural light while strengthening the home's relationship to the surrounding landscape. The project also establishes a long-term master plan that includes a future garage and landscape improvements.
