Methodology
The approach we most often take in our studio is to immerse ourselves completely and collaboratively into a project to either discover or generate the central, often hidden, solution or concept that drives a comprehensive, whole design. Factors such as the program, site, and budget will shape the design. Ideally, a strong concept will work to reconcile and address them simultaneously. We are committed to technical proficiency and professional rigor, and to an awareness of the intuitive and spiritual nature of material, space and light We encourage diverse and overlapping areas of design expertise, open discussion and free flow of ideas within the studio.
The intimacy of our firm insures a personally committed approach that is consistent from project inception through construction. This, more than any other factor, helps insure the success and integrity of the project. We embrace the planning, documentation, communication and other hard work that are so necessary, and recognize the importance of every step during the complex process of bringing a project to fruition.
